Day 3: Toasted Carrots
The third installment in the Autumn Wartime Recipes & Food series is a recipe for Toasted Carrots!
I just bought this 1942 WWII ration cookbook published by Gulf States Utilities Co. called Recipes for Vigor and Victory. Seeing Toasted Carrots made me laugh out loud. Just the idea of rolling an entire cooked carrot in cornflakes and toasting it sounds so bizarre, but strangely not bad! I'll have to give this one a try. I'm always up for trying out a new way to use those autumn root vegetables!
