Day 2: "Sunday Breakfast in October"

I really loved this poem by Eunice Mildred LonCoske that I found in the October 1942 issue of Ladies Home Journal. And since today was a Sunday in October, I thought it was very fitting.
While my October breakfasts never look like hers, I can really sense the beauty, joy, and gratitude of the month through her eyes.
And since the poem talks about buckwheat cakes, I just had to include this recipe for Buckwheat Griddle Cakes from the Year 'Round Edition of Health-For-Victory Meal Planning Guide, ca. 1944.
